" Pachuca " is a Nahuatl word : Patlachihuacan , Pachoacan , Pachyohcan meaning ( ' Place of silver and gold , Place of government , Place of hay, narrow place '); officially Pachuca is a Mexican city of Pachuca county seat and state capital of Hidalgo.

 

The city has a population of 256,584 inhabitants, which corresponds to 95.78 % of the municipal population of 267,862 , which accounts for 10.05% of the total population of the state of Hidalgo. It has a human development index of 0.9022 ( Very High ), 9 and contributes 13.6 % of gross state domestic product of Hidalgo.

 

History


The city was founded in 1438 by a Mexican group , during the Viceroyalty of New Spain he was part of one of the most important mining centers because this is where the amalgamation method was used for the first time , to obtain silver , known as profit patio. At the beginning of the independence war mines they were abandoned , and for 1813 , Pachuca received the title of city. In 1869 Benito Juarez created the state of Hidalgo , designating as capital of the state to the city of Pachuca .

From 1824-1906 , Pachuca and Real del Monte had a period of association with Cornwall, England, the Cornish community was established during the nineteenth century , only to decline during the first half of the twentieth century ; This left different cultural influences in the region such as football and paste.

Gastronomy

Tuna:
